MY STORY

My name is Linda, and I’m 33 years old. Video games have always held a special place in my life a delicate thread that ties my past to my present, woven with emotions, memories, and dreams. As a child, afternoons with my father were a cherished ritual of joysticks and glowing screens. It was our world, a place where time seemed to stop, and every game became an unforgettable adventure.

But then, at just 15 years old, my world fell apart. Losing my father was a devastating blow, one that left me breathless and forced me to grow up too quickly. Video games, once a simple pastime, became my refuge a safe haven where I could feel protected. Yet that refuge sometimes turned into a gilded cage, a place where time stood still but the pain lingered.

Years went by, and through many ups and downs, I learned to face that overwhelming grief. As I grew, video games took on a new meaning: they were no longer just a sanctuary but a window into infinite worlds, an endless source of inspiration, and a way to tell emotions that words alone often can’t convey.

At 30, however, life dealt me another profound loss: my mother’s passing. Once again, time seemed to stop, as if I’d been pulled back into the past. But this time, instead of retreating, I chose to fight back. I looked inward and realized I no longer wanted to live trapped in memories and fears. I decided to give meaning to what I loved most: creating stories. So, I set out on a new journey, dedicating myself to studying Game Design and Narrative Design, determined to transform my passion into something tangible.

Today, I’m working on two video game projects, with a clear goal in mind: to create games that are more than just entertainment. I want to tell stories that can move, inspire, and make people reflect. Every pixel, every line of code, and every piece of dialogue in my games carries a part of who I am, of what I’ve experienced, and of the people I’ve loved.

This is my story a tale of loss, resilience, and rebirth. It’s the first chapter of a journey I hope will inspire anyone who has found a refuge, a passion, or, like me, a dream to pursue in video games.
